Double Take

I couldn't resist buying matching dresses for Abby and Lexi.

The Big Toothpaste Disaster (quickly followed by the dog shampoo disaster)

On Sunday evening, I put Abby to bed around 8:00pm and we didn't hear a peep from her, so of course, we assumed she had fallen asleep.  Around 9:00pm I went upstairs to get Lexi ready for bed, and thats when I discovered the bright blue toothpaste EVERYWHERE!  Abby had emptied an entire tube of toothpaste, all over her room.  It was on the bed, the pillow, most of her favorite dolls and toys, the walls, the carpet, pretty much everything.  This is just one of those instances where I just had to laugh, or else we would most certainly be minus one little girl.

 So, I gave her a rag and asked her to help wipe it off the walls and she got to work while I threw her bedding in the wash.  The next day, I finished washing all the toys and blankets that got "toothpasted" and put her room back together.  We also talked a lot about who was allowed to use the toothpaste and who wasn't.

Well, it wasn't but a few days later that, while feeding Lexi, I realized that Abby was being very quiet upstairs.  And that's usually a recipe for disaster.  Sure enough, when I went upstairs, Abby ran out of her room to stop me and said "DON'T!  Don't go in Abby's room!"  That was my second clue that something was wrong.  When I walked in her room, I discovered that all of her stuffed animals and dolls were coated in dog shampoo.  And once again, there was shampoo everywhere, but the worst damage was definitely to the carpet.  So, all the stuffed animals and dolls, took another ride in the washing machine, and her carpet was scrubbed with the carpet shampooer.  If that was the only damage done that day, it would have been another "laugh it off" instance. However, over the course of the day she also managed to color of some important tax documents, clog the toilet with TONS of toilet paper, and feed most of her dinner to the dog.  By the end of the day, she knew she was in BIG TROUBLE.

Oh man, what am I going to do with this curious, mischievous little girl!

Lexi's Blessing

On Sunday, two major events occured in Lexi's life: 1. She turned 2 months old and 2. She was blessed. 

Lexi is two months old!  She had her check-up and everything looks good.  She weighed 11 lbs 9 oz.  and is 22 1/4 inches long.  It was also time for her first shots, unfortunatly she didn't really have the best reaction from the immunizations.  After her appointment, we came home and she took a good nap, but when she woke up, she just screamed and screamed.  Her legs must have been so sore, because everytime she moved her legs she screamed out in pain.  We were totally unprepared because we didn't have any infant tylenol, so after a quick run to the store and she got a good dose of tylenol, she did better.  I'll have to remember this for next time!

I was so glad that my parents made another trip over for the blessing.  I love it when they come!  Abby followed my Dad around the whole time he was here.  And my Mom is always great company and such help.  On Saturday night my parents offered to watch the kids so we could finally go on a "Valentines" date.  We went to see the movie "Valentines Day" which was cute, but when we returned we discovered that Lexi wasn't quite ready for the seperation.  Apperantly my parents had a hard time keeping her calmed down, which of course made me feel horrible.

On Sunday, all the family came and the blessing went great. Lexi was quiet and was given such a sweet blessing. Afterwards, we had dinner and hung out.

"Thank You Mommy"

Abby has been so cute lately.  Everytime I do anything, she say's "Thank you Mommy!".  If I wash her cup, it's "thank you Mommy for washing my cup" or if I find her a toy it's "thank you Mommy for finding my toy".  And if she does something for me she will say "your welcome Mommy" before I even get a chance to say thank you.  I have tried to teach her to say please, thank you and your welcome, I guess she's really taken it to heart!

Tired Little Girl

Several months ago Abby decided nap time was better used destroying her room.  I tried all sorts of approaches to get her to actually sleep, but I soon just gave up.  I realized that it wasn't worth all the stress of trying to get her to sleep or play quietly.  So, even though "nap time" is long gone, Abby will occasionally fall asleep, but rarely in her bed. 

The other day I was watching TV while I rocked Lexi to sleep and  Abby was busy playing with some toys at the kitchen table.  After a while I realized that it had gotten real quiet.  This is what I discovered:

She had pushed the highchair (which she doesn't sit at for meals any more) up to the table and climbed in.  I guess it must be more comfortable than it looks, because she fell fast asleep!

And the Training Begins

Ever since I had to stop running during my pregnancy, I have been SUPER anxious to get back into it.  Last week, I had my 6 week check, and got the go ahead from my Dr. to start running again (although I had done a few easy runs before then).  I have been looking at races that are scheduled this summer, and long ago decided that I could be ready for the Utah Valley Marathon (http://www.utahvalleymarathon.com/) in June.  This week I officially started training for the marathon.  I am concerned about finding time for all the training runs, so if it becomes too much, I'll back down to the half marathon.  So, here goes!

Welcome Rachel Ann!

Cam's brother Bryce his wife Jasmin welcomed their little daughter Rachel Ann to their family January 29th.  We are so excited that Lexi and Rachel will be so close in age and hopefully as they grow older they will be close friends.
